Well at least that's how I roll. Nothing gets my butt moving faster than the thought of someone coming through my door. Mr. Contractor would like to show our house to some potential clients on Wednesday afternoon and we of course want to help me out. Besides the fact that we love our house, we are so happy with him and want others to know and share what a great job he does. Soooo that my sweet bloggets means this chick has to kick her rear end into high gear and get-r-dun, lol.
Soooo what the heck has this chick been doing you ask, - hmmmm not exactly sure but I know I've been busy. I will say that I had MAJOR phone and internet issues late last week. They FINALLY and I mean FINALLY replaced something, a modem or something like that - wow what a concept. Maybe that should have been done about 6 repair calls ago - I'm just sayin. I was told that for them to come out on Friday because it was a holiday day off for them might cost me something if the problem turned out to be my fault. I told them come on down because I'm pretty sure it's not my problem or has ever been my problem after uptean (is that a word) calls and visits - sheeesh I was ticked off. Well so far so good and I think you've heard that one before. Please keep your fingers crossed that the problem has been solved. Oh and did I say it wasn't my problemo - so no payo on my part.
The kids came home on Thursday night and our fun weekend of great sun and absolutely perfect summertime weather all weekend long got started. So between the internet/phone issues and company I never got back to posting on Friday. Boy there's lots I have to share and say and I'm going to give it the good old college try and get caught up this week. I'm really going to try and be a gal of my word and post a few times this week.
I've had lots of emails regarding the colors in my house. After answering a few of them I decided that I would just post the colors on the blog with a pic of the rooms that have those colors and a color swatch card with the names. I finally found the tag boards that I painted with the colors. That will be one post this week. The other post will be the Prims of the Midwest trip I took a week ago. There's enough eye candy for that one on it's own. I will say that I never took any pics during class - what's with that. But lots of pics of our trip going there and a couple of my traveling woolies in class.
So I didn't want to leave you in a lurch so I'd thought I'd better post something soon.
The first person to leave a response on the correct name is Mary Burns/no blog. Sweet Wendy sent me a darling email with the correct name, so I'm going to send something off to you both for correctly guessing. What's that you say, what's the new name - well it's My Red Farmhouse. I love calling the Mister - Mr. Farmhouse (thank you Kathy/No Blog for the name for the Mister) and since it's just a slight change from My Yellow Farmhouse I just think it's a better fit. I'm waiting anxiously for Amber to change it over. So Mary Burns please send me your snail mail. Ms Wendy I already have yours :).
Things are winding down here at the Farmhouse as far as projects for the worker guys. My pergola will be finished today
then there was a little excitement here yesterday because of some water issues in the mechanical room - but it's all taken care of now.
On the decorating front I've ordered some cute quilts for the beds that should be here next week so I can finally start in those rooms. I feel like things are really starting to click now - finally. I've been so distracted for so long that I was really starting to think I was losing my Mojo of all kinds. I feel like I've been missing in action both in blogland and with my friends and peeps. Kamp Karen starts here a week from Saturday and it will be so relaxing to sit, sew and enjoy friendship. We plan on heading to Bemidji next Friday for a day road trip to a fun quilt shop. Little Silver will be coming along and getting out of my purse, lol.
I've been waiting for Ms. Faye to post pics from our woolie get together but she hasn't done that yet. So I'll post a couple of pics. Our hostess has a daughter getting married in 2 weeks. She made 17 quilts, yes you read that right 17 quilts for the bridal party and gave us a little show and tell. First off the brides quilt - this is a Quilt Soup pattern as well as fabric - ADORABLE
Here are a few of the bridesmaids and groomsmens quilts. Not sure what the maids patterns are, but the men's quilts I believe are a Whimsicals pattern - sorry JM I know this first picture wasn't the best, but dang this quilt is to pretty not to share - I'm just sayin
I love those guy quilts - just perfect and pretty easy to whip up I'm thinking.
Loved this pic from the past weekend of Mr. Farmhouse and our granddog Dakota just enjoying the day
My sweet DIL and my other granddog Bell enjoyed some time together floating
There were lots of boats all decorated out for the 4th of July parade around the lake - couldn't get them all in one shot - so much fun to see
Well that's about it for me. I love that you stop by and leave fun fun comments. I'm going to just say THANK YOU so much for now. I was going to answer you all, but hey I got a house to organize before tomorrow afternoon lol. Right now you would probably all be crying "my eyes, my eyes" the way it is looking at this point. But when it's all done tomorrow - well at least picked up, I'm taking pics to share.
Until Next Time
I just had to respond here. I just reread my post and I'm ALL OVER THE PLACE SISTERS - and decided to leave it as is - gives you an idea what my poor brain has been going through, lol

Ok darlin', I'd like some of whatever your friend is taking. SEVENTEEN quilts??? I don't know if I've even made that many in a lifetime! What a fun thing to do. I hope she at least has a longarm to alleviate her quilting bill. Looks like you're getting all settled in -- good luck with the straightening up!

Love the quilts--17--she deserves a huge, huge hug and then some!!! Do you know the name of the pattern she used for the men's quilts? I would like to make one. They looke fairly simple, but are so perfect--especially the colors. Thanks a bunch. Julie

I knew it...I knew it...great new name I tell ya...I'm so excited to have gotten it correct.
Me too, I work better with deadlines. Things get done faster when I know just when to have things ready.
Wow 17 quilts, she must have been quilting for months and months. I love the guys quilts as well. The wedding party must have been thrilled.
Take care.

What a great description - all over the place. That's exactly how I feel, I can't just seem to settle on one thing right now when I need to do this, be there, do that *sigh* It will settle soon, I hope.
I'm looking forward to your color swatch - I'll be painting soon.
Love the show-and-tell (always do *S*) I might need me a pattern, I see a quilt (or two) that I really LOVE!

Beautiful quilts! And so good to see you posting again ... with so much to say and so much going on. I hope you can catch your breath once the contractor's open house is done. Can't wait to see more of your Red Farmhouse!

It has been so much fun seeing the pics of your new house, it is absolutely beautiful inside and out. Wish I was your neighbor! And your friend is amazing for making all of those quilts, they are gorgeous! BTW, I just looked at the Whimsicals site and the name of the book that the guys' quilt pattern is from is "Serendipity", I can see I will be doing some shopping today!! Take care and good luck with the open house!

Another fun post! Loved all the quilts - what wonderful gifts for the attendants. And of course any new pics of the Red farmhouse are a delight to behold. And the lake - my favorite. Enjoy Kamp Karen. I sure wish my mom sent me to a camp like that!!
hugs, Linda

Eagerly awaiting those yummy colors you used on your house. I'd like to paint my powder room and you are holding me up, LOL! I just loved the color of your powder room at the yellow farmhouse, too...sort of a tan/caramel color with lots of black in the accessories...Please share the names of the colors - you do such an awesome job!
