So what does that mean you ask. Well it means I wasn't ignoring the blog, just not a lot going on that's exciting - but enough going on to keep me busy. This is going to be a very random all over the place post - so if you get to the end of it and scratch your head going - what the - hopefully you'll come back when I've got myself back together.
First off as a couple of you know out there because I've chatted about it - I have a bad case of the January Crankies, lol. Not all of the time, but bad when they pop in to visit. There's been a little bit of a challenge here at the Farmhouse with a heating issue upstairs. Mr. Contractor is on top of it and making those heating guys accountable - AMEN on that note and that's all I'm saying, but that hasn't helped the crankies - I'm just sayin. One of the chairs I was waiting for - hmmm let's see 8 weeks now - well the leather has been discontinued - so she says come pick out another fabric and will reorder again - NOT - I'm not waiting another 12 weeks for the chair - cancel it sister - still waiting to hear on that one - she picked the wrong month if she wants to challenge me, LOL - don't I sound really tough - wouldn't you run.
On a lighter note - oh my goodness today was a BEEEE-U-TI-FUL day. There was hoarfrost on everything - did you know that word means Frozen Dew - I didn't - anyway I took a pic when I ran into town - this is the road leading out of the area where our house is
Last weekend we had a great time with our kids down in Mpls. We are all big hockey fans and enjoy watching the Minnesota Wild, so we headed down to have a fun night out watching a hockey game and spending the weekend together - the place was almost sold out and was loud and fun - but shoot spending time with your kids - how can you not have fun - you know what I'm sayin
The boys know I've always wanted to drive one of these - wouldn't that be a hoot
See this sign and all of the electrical signage around the upper decks
our business has lots and lots and lots of circuit boards inside those electrical signs that we've made for that particular sign company - just thought you might want to know, lol. Let's see - the hockey game was really a bust until about 3 minutes into the 3rd period when the Wild came back from losing 1-5, to end up tying the game in the last minute, going into overtime - neither team scoring and then into a shoot out with each team needing 7 different tries to get someone to score. The Wild pulled it out and beat the #1 team in the NHL right now - woo hoo. Both of my boys played hockey all through their youth and high school. We've logged lots of time on the road and inside hockey arenas during their hockey days. Youngest son went on to play for his college. Besides having a son play in the State High School hockey tournament which the youngest one did (3 years in a row) - believe me nothing can ever compare to that and lordy they gave us many many thrills (more than his momma could handle at times) - this ended up to be one of the most exciting games we've ever been to. So what do you do after the fun of all that - well you hit the bar at the hotel of course - that's what - for a little light snack and a glass or 2 of the grape or whatever is your beverage of choice
yes I know the scarf doesn't go with the sweater. I had it on with my coat and never took it off. The next morning we headed over to IKEA which I've never been to - fun fun store - and then over to the Mall of America for a little shopping and lunch - who wants a ride
So let's see, where to now - oh I've been spending a fair amount of time with this -
The store is coming along, here is a peek from a few days ago
see those lovely homespun fabrics back there - yummmm. I did order at market last fall the whole line of Brannock and Patek's new line called Looking Back and that should be here in a few weeks. I picked up several bolts of Primitive Gatherings homespun line, wanted it all but had to pick and choose.
Yesterday I thought I should pull together the few things left here at the Farmhouse to bring to the store this weekend - YIKES
There's lots more than I thought. Mr. Farmhouse and I will haul this and a few bigger things there this weekend and then I can start getting in there and organizing it next week. The perfect cabinet of course is trapped behind the pontoon in the garage - that sucker will have to wait until the pontoon can be pulled out and the boys are home to help - it's a heavy wonderful old cupboard. Today a sweet angel stopped by the store and dropped off this table for me
I've been sewing a bit - some basket blocks the peeps are exchanging - I'm adding something to the center but I can't show you those yet - it's a secret, lol
another sample for the store - it's waiting for the wool accents of course and there's another pattern that goes with it
a punch needle sample for the store
Let's see what else - oh ya someone got a nice little rawhide chew today and she's really pumped - she knows how to enjoy the little things in life - hmmmm I could learn a little something from her - she never seems to have the crankies
Found a nice comfy chair for the sewing nest completely by accident. Mr. Farmhouse asked me to run into one of our local furniture stores to pick up some hot tub chemicals (they sell that as well) - and low and behold the perfect chair for the nest - I bet he won't ask me to do that again, LOL - those were some costly chemicals
still waiting on the footstool because they needed to order that. I wanted a small check fabric in just a basic neutral color that I could throw a quilt over the back or add some fun pillows for color. Cami and I fit quite nicely in that comfy chair thank you very much - looking forward to logging some butt time in there this weekend.
Let's see - oh ya part of the bedroom set is here - the headboard is done and getting painted as we speak, but here's a peek
This little table found it's way into the truck with the bedroom furniture and just had to stay, lol - that's my story anyway
of course it needs major major tweaking, but I'm fighting with myself (yes I am) about wanting to put the snowman away and bringing out the regular stuff - so I'm stuck with myself - which way do I go - I'll let you know. In the mean time - nothings moving until the choice is made and I hate it every time I walk by, because the only thing that belongs there are the crocks.
This piece came home in December and was to stay in the married ones bedroom - BUT
It needs to head over to Farmhouse Woolens - where I need it for a bit (thank goodness I haven't decorated it yet - see those little white pitchers, bought those at IKEA this past weekend - cute, but not sure where to put them, so I plopped them there and never looked back - see how this brain is working - not good, lol). I bought this at a home show put on by C&K who's beautiful colonial home I showed you. They will be putting a few things in the new store and I'm anxious to see what they come up with. Most of my patterns are finally here and I can start with getting samples made. There's still some springy colored wools whisking there way here and hopefully will arrive next week. I've got several irons in the fire for the store and future projects/blocks of the month. First thing I'm waiting for - the new website. I'm currently working with someone on that. Just got the mock-ups from them yesterday. I think were on the right path and hopefully that can be finalized next week after some tweaking. Since it's a complete changeover I'm not adding anything new at this time.
Well that's probably enough for now. I wanted to share a recipe for pepperoni bread, but I'll do that next time, this post is to long now. The peeps are coming over tomorrow for a day of sitting and sewing. I'm looking forward to holding a needle and thread and some laughs to chase away the crankies - the peeps are good for that.
So are you confused yet - I think I am, lol - I promise to be more on track next time. I've passed the 250 mark for posts - I'm thinking a giveaway is in order - hmmmmm what can I come up with.
Until Next Time
