and I seriously can't believe it's been a month tomorrow since I stopped by here - shame on me. Those hot hazy (but not lazy) days of summer have stopped by here the last several days for a visit and I think they've stuck around to long, lol. Today the high will be somewhere in the low 90's. Now I know for some of you that would be a cool down - but throw in the lovely humidity we can get here and it can sure drag ya down can't it.
We had our annual summer fish fry last weekend - it's was really windy and cool believe it or not so we huddled inside instead of being out enjoying the lake - notice the sweatshirts :)
A new treat was offered up by Mr. Rod - grilled teriyaki pheasant wrapped in bacon
They were a huge hit by the attendee's. We sure had lots of laughs and were able to watch a couple of quick rain storms come across the lake - always fun to see.
My sister came the next day for a visit with my niece. The wind died down the last night they were here so we took the "tuner" out for a ride around the lake
Things are finally getting worked on around here. Window treatments have been ordered for the family room, sunroom and kitchen. I've finally found rugs I like and lamps as well. All on order and I'm itching to see a few things finished up. My friend Rosemary has stepped up to help me get these rooms tweaked and looking the way I want them to. Finally got a quilt hung up and like how that turned out
the family room is close to being done just a few areas to tweak
The little area behind the door in the sunroom which really limits what I can do there finally has a look I'm happy with it
I'm happy with the progress that's been made so far - even found some stools for the island - that's another story there. Finally I'm going to be having some things to share with you - it's been a long dry spell hasn't it. I'm really missing blogging and visiting with all of you who have blogs. Life has really been moving at a fast speed for me the last couple of years - I'm looking forward to slowing it down a bit now - that speed isn't for me :). Some people like that, even thrive on it - but it's not for me. I'm missing those things that I find enjoyment in doing and have let go by the wayside. Some are good at juggling lots of balls - I find I drop to many, lol. I've said the words before and not much has happened but look for a much more active blog and from now on. If you ask a question - look in the comment section and I will answer it there - makes it easier for answering than the way typepad has it set up now to respond privately.
Tomorrow is the 2nd annual meeting of the "Sisterhood" (peeps and woolies) here at the Farmhouse so I'd better get to cooking. I'm trying all new recipes so I'll have some fun ones to share as well as pics of the get together. 2 of the woolies are returning today from a trip to England on a quilting adventure. Looking forward to hearing all about it.
See you back here real soon
Until Next Time
