WOW can you believe that 2011 is just hours away. This year has just flown by in warp speed - is that a sign of getting older :). 2010 has been a good year here at the Farmhouse. It's been a year of family, fun, joy, growth and challenges. For me personally it's been a year of growth, learning and challenges. I've learned I can run and grow a brick and mortar store and that there's some business knowledge in this old brain - which came as a bit of a surprise, lol. I've learned I can't do it alone and had some wonderful angels in my life who I would have been lost without. I learned that I should have asked for help much sooner which could have made life a bit more simpler if I had. I've learned by having the store what I really want out of this venture - and what just doesn't snap my socks in running a business. I also learned from a dear sweet peep that when life throws you a road block from out of the blue that you can handle it with grace, dignity and a positive attitude and that it's OK to let friends help even if it's just to sit with you. Friendship is priceless and we all need those wonderful angels in our life - thanks LL I learned alot from you this year.
My biggest lesson came from the whole year rolled into one - it taught me to really take a look at life - mine in particular. How do I want to spend my time - how do I want to make each day count - what's important and what's not. My journey towards those answers has been more than just this last week as I took time to reflect - it's been a learning process over the last several months. There won't be resolutions for the new year, I can never keep them, lol - this year there are goals I will try to reach. I took the time to write them down for personal, family, friends and business. I wanted to come up with a word for 2011, a word to describe my journey - but I can't seem to narrow it down yet. I will share with you when I do. One word I keep coming up with is discovery - because I feel like 2011 will be a journey towards how I want to run my life. I'll take you along on my journey as blogging makes a come back in my life.
So stay safe this New Years Eve. We were supposed to have a party here tonight but are waiting for round 2 of a storm to hit later this afternoon - round 1 came in yesterday with lots of snow and wind. So we will delay our party until tomorrow night when everyone can travel safe here and home without worry.
So happiest of 2011 to you and your family. 2011 will bring us all joy and challenges, but we need those challenges to recognize the joy. As my oldest son likes to say "you only get 1 spin around the sun" - make it count and work for you :).
Until Next Time
