Dang it's been awhile since I stopped by and I hadn't realized how long. Lots going on at the Farmhouse in the past few weeks that have kept me out of trouble. My brick and mortar store is now closed. It took a bit to get ready for the inventory reduction sale, then the sale itself and then the process of moving out display pieces and such. I'm not totally moved out but will be in a few weeks. I had some moments where I was sad, but now I'm ready to move forward with the web only business and have some time for other things. It's a good fit for me at this point in my life and I'm excited.
Did manage to fit in a nice retreat with the Peeps and the Beeps at a wonderful retreat center that's in an old church. Working area is up stairs and living area is downstairs. Here's a few pics of it - downstairs
We had a great time and there was lots of eye candy to share with you. First off I have to show a mystery to all of us except for a few in the room who knew how to put this one together other than the ordinary way. Ms. Nancy was making a quilt for her daughter for graduation - I think it was maybe called Blooming Nine Patch. A friend had figured out a way to put this together which was so confusing to us peeps. You make your nine patch blocks and then sew them together in strips like this
One of the jokes for the weekend was that Nancy had finished the above quilt and GB finished up a stitchery project you see her pointing to - GB was quite proud of herself, lol. Actually she accomplished much more - but we had to raz her because she had pinned her stitchery on the project wall so we could enjoy that as well as the quilt - gotta love those girls.
One of the peeps made quite a few aprons
she was making them for "gasp" Christmas gifts for this the upcoming holiday, not the one that has already passed. WOW what a concept - being a head of the game, lol. She always is tho - makes gifts every year and has them done way ahead of time.
Lots more eye candy to come and I'll be back tomorrow or Tuesday to share the rest.
It's a drizzly foggy type of afternoon - so Mr. Farmhouse is putting a fire in the fireplace and I'm going to grab some handstitching and enjoy a Lifetime movie, stitching and the fire.
Until Next Time
