It's my favorite time of the year. I'm loving the cooler nights and definitely the cooler days - altho this week did bring a few warmer days - cooler days are coming again in the coming week.
Mr. Farmhouse and I took Ms. Cami on a walk through a state park just a hop skip and a jump away from the house
Yesterday was a beautiful day to be outside so we headed over to a small course to play a round of golf -
Then we headed over to a bigger golf course ( Mr. Farmhouse plays the smaller one with me - because that's what I can handle, lol) that has a great place to eat with outside dining - not a bad view while enjoying lunch - right - I do think it's time they pull their flowers
On the sewing front - I've gotten started on a stitchery
and before I start my applique challenge quilt I wanted to do a practice block using a different pattern with a few tricky spots to it
Now it doesn't look to bad if your driving by at 30 mph, lol - those scallops on the flower were tricky for me - but good practice. I love how the leaves turned out and I learned that I don't like doing needle turn stems - I'd rather sew them on the machine and hand stitch them down. The center is 2 more plain circles plus a few circles around the flower and the bud and then I will probably make it into a pillow for the bedroom. I really find handwork just so relaxing and enjoyable.
Well Mr. Farmhouse is in a golf tournament today - that means the house is totally mine - which is precious you know with him being retired - so I'm off to the nest to enjoy it. I've had a lot of people ask me how it's going with him home now. I will say it's gone very well for both of us. I've realized tho that the summer for me had no sense of time or schedule - it felt like everyday was a Saturday because he was home. Which meant that I didn't get things done like I had planned - threw me off so much more than I would have ever thought. It didn't do that to him at all - but as I look back it did to me. So with the start of the school year - I'm putting myself on a day plan for work and play - should help me get back into the rhythm of things again. I do plan to get the fall decorating done tomorrow and Monday - simple it will be this year.
On a more somber note, tomorrow is an anniversary of a day we all wish had never happened - BUT we need to remember - take a moment to remember in whatever way your comfortable with all of those affected so dearly by 9/11 - we must never forget them.
Have a Blessed weekend
Until Next Time
