And it's a sunny day here - actually that's been more the norm than cold, snow and dark days. We were down in Minneapolis yesterday where it was doing some heavy snow flurries - was nice to see. Who'd think living in Minnesota I'd be hungry for snow.
We absolutely LOVE living on the lake, have I said that before, lol, and watching it during every season. Today it's busy out there - every fish house in our bay has people in it (can't see them all) - even Mr. Farmhouse is fishing. Plus the neighbors have company over and there's a game of hockey going on, girls figure skating - (a few are missing in this picture) - even the dogs are running around out there. It's so much fun to watch the activity
I've been working on knitting up a infinity scarf that I got the pattern from on this blog
it's a simple knit and purl, now this is something that I can handle and have been really enjoying the process. I love the color of the yarn and the feel of it. Ms. Cami seems bored with it, lol. Actually she's watching the 2 dogs out on the lake running around.
Thought I would show you my new sewing tote that a sweet friend made for me - I've been putting it to good use and keeping it by my stitching chair so I can just pick up something and get to sewing. I've been working on only keeping the current project and threads in it so it doesn't fill up, you know what I mean, lol - so far so good :). I'm hoping she will make some up for me to sell on my selling blog. Maybe with your encouragement she will :).
Well now I have a great recipe for you to try
great before picture - but guess what - no finished yummy to show you - I think I deleted the picture because I can't find it anywhere. But this is a yummy Banana Bread recipe given to me by my sweet friend Libster.
Bananan Bread
- 1 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 tbsp margarine - I used butter
- 1 cup sour cream
- 2 eggs
- 3 ripe banana's mashed
- 2 cups flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp soda
- 1/2 bag chocolate chips
- cream sugar and butter. Add mashed banana's and the rest of the ingredients and mix. Pour into your sprayed pan. Depending on your size of pan you can get one big thick load of banana bread or 2 smaller loafs - I've done both. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. If it's a thick loaf it will take longer - just keep checking it with a cake tester. Yummmmmmmm - thanks Libster.
Well time to get going and make dinner so when Mr. Farmhouse comes in from fishing we can eat. Tonight meatloaf and mashed potatoes - another yummmmmm.
Until Next Time
Thanks for the recipe!
Sewing box is lovely!
Do you think you will share your meatloaf recipe...one of my husband's favourites, yet I NEVER make it!!!
Love your blog!

Ooh, the banana bread sounds wonderful! I would definitely like to encourage your friend to make some of those prim sewing boxes for selling. :) I would be first in line for something like that. It's exactly what I need next to my stitching chair. Right now everything is kind of just "there."
Love the lake picture and the one of Cami enjoying the sun!

How fun to look out from your nice warm comfy chair and see all the fun going on. Any good figure skaters? My favorite Olympic sport. Great sounding recipe. Glad I don't have any ripe bananas right about now or I'd be down in the kitchen. Where is it now? Hmmmm

I want to move in wih you just so I can eat at your house! Thanks for another great recipe - yours are among my favorites. Speaking of which, we want to do another cook off in our family - do you have any suggestions? We're having a hard time coming up with a good idea. Since your white chili won it's cookoff, I thought you might have an idea (not to mention a recipe that will make me win LOL!)

Hi Karen. What fun to look out at people playin' all day. Ms Cami is lucky to snuggle inside with you and your knitting. I'm overdue to knit something, that looks like something I could do...maybe.
Love the tote, I know what you mean about keeping it current. Mine's always overflowing and every time I clear it out I swear it won't happen again but...
I don't eat anything banana but meatloaf...I'll be right over!

The view and activity out your window remind me of some favorite folk art, just for real! I can see why you love living on your lake full time now. Things sound pretty peaceful at the farmhouse!

I love the bananas in your photo - I'll bet they made the bread extra moist! What yarn are you using for your scarf? I have wanted to make one of those but since I am not a super knitter I want a fairly easy pattern - would you say it is on the easy side?? And yes, have your friend make totes for sale!

Would love to be able to purchase one of the totes!

Hi Karen. Gonna try that recipe soon...sounds yummy! Love the lake pics. We sure are all experiencing some weird winter weather this year. I live in IL in the St. Louis metro area & we had temps in the upper 60s Monday with surrounding areas having tornado like storms that night. Now it's freezing again. Crazy - stay cozy! :)

Hi-love the scarf but cannot knit! I want to try the banana bread asap. I love the sewing tote but what really caught my eye along with your wool applique is the little tulip in the corner. Is it a scissor case? Is this a pattern or kit that you sell?

well I would love to buy one of those sewing totes! in black and maybe in red too!!!!!
love the scarf!
