Wait - is it spring, well that's what the calendar says, but that's not what it says out my window and the temperature is a screaming -2 below, what the heck lol. Yesterday brought snow and blizzard winds to our area, shutting down everything from schools to the freeway. A trip to Fargo for some snuggle time had to be cancelled - do you know how hard that was lol. But today the sun is shining - the driveway has been cleared of super high drifts of snow and I can get out for a haircut - life is good. Oh and snuggle time has been rescheduled for Thursday - be still my heart.
This is little note is for Suzanne in Virginia. I just received the card you sent to me via someone else this past weekend. I'm sorry it took so long to reach me. What a sweet note in there - thank you for it. I will be happy to help you out if your still interested. If you can pop me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org and let me know and I will take care of it.
I took off late Friday afternoon for my event with Stacy/Buttermilk Basin and had a bit of white knuckle drive down there as well. I wasn't sure if I would go Friday or not because of the weather - yup the freeway was closed going that way in the morning because of accidents due to icy roads. So late afternoon some friends where heading down there and I asked if I could follow her and her hubby - that helped believe me. He even graciously chipped off the icy slush from my car when we stopped for a coffee. Saw a rollover that had just happened with the people climbing out of the back window with the car upside down - talk about scary. We didn't stop because others had and were running to help them - like I said it must have happened just a minute or 2 before we got in that area. I sure hope everyone was ok. At that point you have to wonder what the heck your doing lol. But the drive home on Saturday was just fine with the sun shining and dry roads. Ahhhhhh winter in Minnesota - ain't it grand lol.
Remember I told you something big was going to be happening here - well it starts next week - weather permitting of course. Last year on St. Patricks day we had no snow and a temp of 70 degrees - this year a storm was looming - so who knows what next week will bring - think happy weather thoughts please lol. Anywho I digress - Mr. Farmhouse and I are adding onto the house making a big studio for me - YAHOOOOOO.
See the roof line above the garage - well that's where the new nest will be. I'm so excited about it and can't wait. With this studio I will be able to do much more online and also offer some wool workshops and events during the year to those who might be interested in coming on out. I want this space to be inviting, spacious with lots of light and full of inspiration for those who come. This won't be a store, - although there will be fabric and wool that I will use in kits etc - but more like a studio to offer wool clubs, special seasonal events and even a place for you to come with your special sewing peeps and use the space for a sewing day. I have lots of ideas spinning in my head and can't wait to put them into use. I'm anxious to get back online and you will notice up on the right side of my blog a link to my Etsy shop. I'm just getting started and don't anticipate to much on there for a few weeks yet - but it's set up now and ready to go. Now this new nest is going to be wonderful for me - but the long term use will change over time. Somewhere down the pike when I'm ready to be done this space will become a bunkhouse for what we hope will be a house full of grandkids in which a couple of bedrooms can be built within the space. We checked out several possibilities and this one made the most sense and we are investing in our home, rather than another property - that's a good thing. So I will be taking you on another journey in this crazy life of mine. But I feel like all of the roads I have traveled on this quilty journey are leading me to this point. I feel like this is what I'm meant to do and I hope others will feel the same way and come visit me. Plus this is going to get all of my c**p out of our living space and my goodness that's a good thing. My old nest will become a nice big gathering space with a tv and couches from another room which will be next to the nest - confused - I will share more as we go along and it will make much more sense then.
So that's whats happening in my neck of the woods - I think that's enough don't you lol.
Until Next Time
