Not much went on in the Farmhouse today - laundry (how exciting is that) and cutting kits for the BOM that is starting next week. I've notified everyone that emailed their interest and heard back from most of you. If you didn't get an email from me - check your spam to see if I landed there lol. I have 2 openings left if your interested - email me for the info. I've also got a business blog up and will be starting to chat on that next week as well. You can find the link on the upper right hand corner of the sidebar if your interested.
Tomorrow the peeps head out for a day trip to a couple of fun towns down the road to visit some great shops. Who knows what will find lol. I'm on the look out for some fun new fall decorations - I don't need much but it's always fun to find something new for the season don't ya think.
Here's a good and easy Taco Salad recipe for you that one of the peeps shared with us
- 1 medium head of lettuce
- 1 lb hamburger
- 8 oz cheddar cheese grated
- 1 small can kidney beans - I don't use these
- 1 large onion chopped
- 4 medium tomatoes diced
- 1 pkg taco flavored chips (not the small snack size) I break them up just a bit
- 1 pkg taco seasoning
- 1 8 oz bottle 1000 Island dressing
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 tbsp taco seasoning (take from the package)
- 1 tbsp taco sauce - not salsa
Brown Hamburger, add taco seasoning minus the 1 tbsp along with the 3/4 cup water the seasoning calls for. Layer the ingredients starting with the lettuce, onion, tomatoes, beans if you add them and cheese. I don't add the meat remember until I'm just about ready to serve it - as I like the meat warm.
Mix the dressing and keep it separate until ready to use. When ready to serve add the meat and chips - I mix it up just a bit and then add the dressing and toss it all together - serve right away. This isn't a salad that you can keep leftovers for the next day - so enjoy it fresh
