Happy Thursday everyone. Boy it sure sounds like parts east are getting or going to get slammed with a big storm - I hope everyone stays safe and stays put if they can. Sure will make a mess for those trying to travel home after the holidays. Sounds like we are going to have some bitterly cold weather and possibly some nasty stuff ourselves starting tomorrow night into Saturday. These subzero temps are getting a tad old. We expect this weather in January - but these temps started hanging around way to early in December for anyone's liking. But what can ya do - but bundle up and grin and bear it.
So as I said earlier, we celebrated the weekend before Christmas with our kids and because of this Mr. Farmhouse and I could head down to celebrate it with Mother Tother, my sister and her family. It was a wonderful time spent together with lots of laughs and memories. Mother Tother decorates with lots of blue and white in her beautiful home and so at Christmas time she adds mostly reds and the effect is beautiful. I love her hutch in the kitchen and needed to share it here - I think it just looks so Christmasy and warm.
When Mother Tother married Phil several years ago one of her very long time friends sent her this as a wedding gift
how dang cute is that pie server shaped like a candy cane - and the plate is just as sweet. I told her don't be surprised if I sneak it out when I leave lol.
The morning before we left I enjoyed my morning coffee alone before others were awake, looking at her beautiful tree all decked out in red with the village underneath it, thinking of our fun time together this Christmas and of new memories made.
I am blessed
I loved seeing the beautiful decorations! So glad you were able to spend time with your kids as well as your sister etc. I've heard the ice storms have been so awful-stay safe dear friend!
Hugs and Happy New Year.

I just love this. What a beautiful home. I thought I was the only one getting the blues over the weather. I have only snow shoe-ed 3 times this winter. It has been so bitterly cold you don't stay out for all. It's been this way since Nov 15. The only bright side is minute by minute the days are getting longer.

Your Mom's house looks so peaceful and calming. Love the red and white together. You need to make her a red and white quilt to go in there. :)

What a beautiful setting! So nice to be able to spend the holidays with family. Stay warm!!! I am in the east and we are getting slammed right now with a horrible storm. The backlash will be the sub zero temperatures that arrive tomorrow night. Gotta love winter!

The kitchen hutch in white with all the red accents is lovely to look at. Your Mom has a warm and inviting house. I hope it doesn't stay too cold for you. Keep warm and sew.
