OMG, That is so cool! Can't wait to see how you go!

I have not done much applique and would love to do more. Such a cute pattern. I am anxious to see your progress!

Beautiful! Applique is what I am trying to master presently (amongst other things) prep your blocks and snuggle under one of your lovely quilts beside a big fire and STITCH! Nothing more relaxing:) Look forward to seeing your progress x

Karen, as soon as I read your post I thought you were writing it for me! I am determined to learn how to do needleturn applique. I've done applique for years in a variety of different ways but have never had much success with needleturn. That changed with the tutorials on karensquiltscrowscardinals.blog......such good information! If you get a chance check it out!!

And Gail is such a sweetheart to boot! That pattern is adorable -- I'm looking forward to your progress!

Good idea to use a kit you already have. LOL I love that one by Gail.

My Grandma was so good at handwork. I have embroidered quilts and pillowcases she made and hand appliqued quilts. Wish I was better at handwork. My problem is there are so many quilts I want to make I don't take the time to learn handwork like I probably should. I love to sit down and hand stitch the binding on a finished quilt. But there are too many projects jumping around in my head to make. And usually too many projects started...LOL Sign of the times?

Goodluck with your first 2014 goal! I'm sure you will be fabulous - just like all the other things you do. I too am learning needleturn applique with a Jan Patek pattern. I am starting this week. Would you consider sharing tips as you go? The Gail Pan design is adorable. Chris M

Where would I find the instructions for that georgous penny rug by the scale?
