I can't believe I'm closing in on 3 months since I last blogged - how crazy is that. First off thank you for all the emails and comments checking in on me - those are so sweet and I'm thankful for them. I never intended to be gone that long - but as you know life gets busy and I guess blogging took a backseat. So when I got a couple more "check ins" on me today I figured I'd better get cracking and get a blog post up.
Sooooo what has been happening here at the Farmhouse. First off since the last time I blogged the youngest Farmhouse son got engaged to his sweetie of 9 years
That picture was taken on the night they got engaged - both sets of parents were able to celebrate the fun surprise. No wedding date set yet - they are in the process of getting ready to build a house this spring - so all attention is being put towards that. We are thrilled to be welcoming Mari into this nutty family - although she has been apart of this family for many years already and we haven't scared her off yet. I'm so blessed to have 2 beautiful young women to call daughters - they are a blessing to our family and to Mr. Farmhouse and I.
We took the kids on a wonderful family vacation in March to the Cayman Islands. Ms. Ellie had her first airplane ride and enjoyed it. We flew out very very early in the morning - so she was in her jammies for the first part of the flight - lucky girl - that would be an awesome way to fly lol.
We rented a house on the ocean with a great pool and enjoyed doing nothing for the week.
This was my favorite place to hang out along with everyone else
Ms. Ellie - liked playing in the sand - but didn't care for the grass lol
one of my favorite pics from the trip - both Grandpa and Ellie loved being in the pool and this was called the Flying Ellie by Grandpa
The kids went out to dinner one night and out on the town ( this picture is funny because there is actually only about an inch difference in the height of my boys - but it doesn't look like that in this picture) while we stayed home with Ms. Ellie
And then the kids gifted us with a dinner out the next night - just the 2 of us - such a fun place to eat and enjoy the beautiful water view. Gotta love it when the kids treat - it was a sweet surprise
After we got back from that trip we had a little time at home and then took off to Key Largo to meet up with some friends for a few days enjoying that area -how beautiful is this view to walking down to the ocean
this was our little bungalow that we stayed in
and my view one day while enjoying my lunch on the little patio - doesn't get much better than this - especially after our cold winter - these trips were welcomed in a big way
our resting spot for 4 days
Ms. Ellie is growing like a weed and such a joy to be around. Mr. Farmhouse and I went up to babysit on Easter Saturday while Mom and Dad worked and took Ms. Cami with us since we would be gone so much of the day. I love this picture of Ellie trying on Grandpa's shoes before we headed outside for a walk
she also enjoyed her first taste of orange jello with her favorite mandarin oranges mixed in and a little cool whip on top - hey that never hurt anyone lol.
after our long day babysitting and then enjoying our Easter dinner on Saturday night together - we headed home - Ms. Cami was exhausted from her regular lack of naps during the day and fell asleep while driving home in the backseat snuggled into Mr. Farmhouses jacket - she didn't move the whole way home - well over and hour - in fact she didn't move the rest of the night lol. Its hard when your 12 years old
So there were lots of other little things that went on - fun, busy times that I would like to catch you up on - lots of fun show and tell and retreat pictures from the peeps and beeps annual spring retreat. Lets see if I can't show back up here tomorrow night to share those with you.
Until Next Time
