Oh boy I heard the news anchor tonight say that 3 months from today we will be celebrating Christmas - YIKES I wasn't ready to hear that - especially with temps close to 80 today. Oh well I guess it is a reality - I just hope for a long autumn season before the snow and cold.
I have to share a yummy with you tonight. I've made it 3 times now and it's a hit every single time. Yesterday I had a group of ladies up in the nest for a sewing day. They LOVED this cake and went home with the recipe. Let me introduce you to
Cinammon Roll Cake
I found this recipe over at Chef-in-training and it's worth looking around her blog when you stop by - lots of yummy recipes. Anywhoooo this is a good one - and a little ice cream along side it won't hurt ya lol. Tomorrow night we are having company over for a bonfire after we have dinner out - well what's a bonfire without dessert - so instead of the obvious s'mores I decided in honor of fall I would whip up a pumpkin cheesecake to serve
it's a good one and easy to boot - maybe I should share the recipe in my next post - let me know if your interested.
The other day we headed over to Ms. Faye's house for a woolie gathering. Her table set for our little afternoon snack was adorable - she made that cute long box in the center - we all put our orders in for one - she laughed so I'm not sure will get them - pretty please Ms. Faye :)
those amazing chargers under the plates
well she let me take them right off the table when I left so that I could use them on my table that night for a dinner I was having - now that's a nice woolie. Thanks to the other woolies for helping to gather them up - I was late getting out the door to head for home. It's hard to leave that group - so much talking to do.
I love how woolieJ is looking at the table - like she's trying to decide where to sit lol
Here's a few peeks around Ms. Faye's house
these little quilts - be still my heart - and that yo yo quilt above - LOVE IT
Love the area above her mantel.
How cute is this truck and scarecrow
Two woolies had show and tell - a quilt for a granddaughter who's turning 1 - she wasn't sure how she would quilt it - but it will be wonderful whatever she does - she's amazing at it
little cross stitch pillows - how adorable are they
This summer the growing season got off to a late start - this top photo is my vine growing on my arbor this year and the bottom photo is from last year - quite a difference huh
The bees are loving all the flowers and when you walk by you can really hear the buzzing.
I've decorated out on the porch for the autumn season - simple and easy. We can get quite a wind on the porch - so things I might like on there unless I'm willing to lose them on windy day I keep it simple and make sure the items are heavy lol. I think our wraparound porch acts like a wind tunnel - cuz my signs hanging on the house can bang against the side of the porch on a real windy day/night.
I will get some inside pictures this weekend of some areas of the house that have that autumn touch.
For those of you who asked - my favorite candle for fall is one by Crossroads called Buttered Maple Syrup - you can find them on Amazon if you can't find them in a store near you.
Until Next Time
