Man oh man it's cold outside and should be even colder tonight into tomorrow morning - wind chill warning is the word on the street - with possible -50 below. I guess winter has finally arrived. I sure hope I don't end up eating these words - but we could really use snow. We've got nuttin - just a little bit here and there. If it's going to be winter - I would rather look at white then brown. But these fridged temps can stay away.
Anywhoooo I hope you all had a great holiday season. Ours was wonderful and quiet. The kids were here along with the little ones and the dogs for a couple of days. Someone even had their first venture out into the fish house with Grandpa and Daddy
Lots of laughs and food was enjoyed for Christmas and a fun gathering here with friends for New Years Eve. Now the calendar has turned into a new year and 2015 is here. I sure hope it doesn't go by as fast as 2014.
Do you pick out a word for the new year to help you define what your goals might be? Last year my word was "joy". I wanted to see the joy in everday life rather than just rushing through the day and not noticing the little things. Did I do well with that word? I like to think that I did - could I have done better - I think I could have. But at least it made me more aware and I think that's a good thing. My word hasn't been totally defined yet for this year. I know what I want to accomplish for the new year and I'm narrowing down the best word to make me aware again this year. I'll keep you posted. Now I could talk till I'm blue in the face about blogging more and you could roll your eyes and say - yup heard that one before. All I can tell you is I'm going to really work hard at it. I know Mother Tother loves it when I do - right Mom? I want to really work on my photography in 2015 so I hope you'll see those results on this blog. I see 2015 as a year of change in many areas and I look forward to sharing those changes as the year progresses. That should give me lots to talk about lol. I know the word change could be my word - but that doesn't define it the way I would like to.
Tonight to ward off the cold we had a yummy new soup to us for dinner.
This was a really yummy and thick soup. The only change I did from the recipe was to cook the pasta before adding it. That way it doesn't suck up all the broth as it cooks in the soup. Then we added shredded parmesan cheese on top. Perfect soup weather happening here. I've made several of The Country Cooks recipes - and have never been disappointed. Take a peek if you pop over there - you might find something that snaps your socks.
Until Next Time
