Happy March 1st - isn't it crazy that we have entered into the third month of the new year already. It's' gone by so fast and I don't see the months slowing down much between now and the big wedding here in July. Lots of fun and projects ahead of us here at the Farmhouse to get ready for that special day in our family. One of my projects has been a furniture hunt - I've been in need of a new loveseat and chair for the sunroom and after several months I've finally found one - can I get a YAHOOO on that one. It will be delivered the first of April - so that's one project I can cross off the list. As Mother Tother would say the pressure is on lol. I've given myself a goal of having as much done inside as I can by the middle of May. Will see how that works out. Stay tuned and I'll share what's happening around here.
One of my goals for 2015 is LOTS more personal sewing. So I entered into a challenge with Oregon Anne as she has become known at the Farmhouse, but in bloggy land known as Cottons n Wools as well as Sandy/No Blog. If you follow Anne's blog you will know Sandy as the one who does monthly sew along challenges with Anne. So our challenge together is a Lori Smith/From My Heart to your Hands pattern called Fit to Frame number 6. Our monthly challenge is to complete 3 blocks and share them with you. So here's mine
of course there's a thread on this one - pretend you don't see that
Lori's pattern is all done in cotton applique. I've chosen to do mine with a mixture of wools and cotton. Now I will confess that I did get a kit a year or so ago and I'm working a little bit from that kit. I'm adding the wools and if the fabric doesn't snap my socks for the applique I'm not using it. It sure is fun doing a challenge with these two woolie peeps. it will be fun to see if they look a little different - since all three of us like the same things. I do believe Anne and Sandy are doing theirs entirely in wool.
So pop on over to Anne's blog and see their version of these blocks
