How is everyone doing out there. Man the weeks sure are going fast in the new year aren't they. February will be here next week already. January was a good month but I'm not sure what I accomplished and really where it even went lol.
Yesterday a wonderful group of ladies came for their annual sewing day up in the nest. They've been coming for well over a year and a half - the last Wednesday of each month. They are always such an inspiration with what they are working on and just sweet ladies to spend the day with. I always make them lunch and treats and they are always so appreciative of it all.
This month we had those yummy Hawaiian Ham Sandwiches - lordy there good. Just check out Pintrest or google it and you'll get a ton of recipes
also a little Lemon Dessert - a recipe from one of the peeps - yup that was really good to - I need to give you the recipe next time - it's light and very refreshing - big hit with the ones who had dessert. Some of those girls are strong - I could use a little bit of restraint lol.
Here's a little show and tell from them - I know I missed a few projects yesterday but here's a few I did snap quick - I don't know any information about them - but I do know the star quilt was on the cover of Fons and Porter Love of Quilting early 2015.
Yup love this star quilt
So we watched the littles over the weekend and had a great time. Boy they sure keep us hopping. I loved this picture of Mr. Farmhouse and the little one - guys in their bibs getting ready to head out for some fun in the snow. I was sorry that it turned out blurry
They took care of freshing up the snowmen while they were outside. The oldestlittle was down for a nap she really needed.
We have a little kids teapot that makes a loud pouring sound when you tip it like your pouring in the cup. The youngestlittlest loves to carry it around, drop it on the floor where it's always in the pouring position and it just keeps making this pouring noise until someone goes over and picks it up. Apparently Mr. Farmhouse wasn't interested in listening to it anymore - this is what I saw the next day - not sure how I missed it earlier. That sure made me laugh. This shelf sits on the wall and I have to climb onto the couch to reach the top of it for a point of reference on the top.
Next weekend is the annual winter retreat the peeps go on. Really looking forward to it - so I've been working on some prepping of projects to take with me. First up - this fun little summer wallhanging which is from the same designer as the heart one I showed in the last post - Cottage Creek Designs called Sweet Liberty
I've also jumped on the bandwagon of the Bloom Sew Along with Bee In My Bonnet/Lori Holt. Such fun fabrics and colors - totally out of this girls box and so much fun. I'm almost done appliqueing it down. Then to add the borders. Every week there is a new block to make - need to work on the one for this week - this weekend and get caught up.
Last I worked on getting this pulled together today - Rabbits Prefer Embroidery is a darling pattern from Bunny Hill Designs. I've had the embroidery for this done for ohhhhh close to two years lol. So it's been moved to the top of the UFO pile so that I can get it done by spring decorating time. It's my big project for retreat so hopefully it will come home close or completely finished and ready for the quilter
I couldn't resist and had to put together the first block today - I'm loving it
So that's about it around here. I need to start working on some projects around the house - spring is going to be here before we know it and then who wants to be inside. But first up prep for retreat.
Have a great week and will see you back here next Wednesday or Thursday .
Until Next Time
