For those of you who showed interest in the gathering here up in the nest - I've changed the date now to accommodate a holiday gathering instead. We are looking at November 12th now instead of the end of August and I will fill you in on more later on this summer. Perfect timing to get you thinking about the holidays, gifts and projects to make.
WOW today sure was spectacular in the weather department today. Nice temp, cool breeze and lots of sun - can't beat that with a stick. For a Monday it was a great start to the week.
Sooooooo what's been happening in my neck of the woods since I was last here. Well May finished up didn't it and we are now in the middle of June. I wish I could say I've been crazy busy - but truth be told it's just everyday stuff and trying to enjoy the outside when we can. We've been waiting for summer.
Today I finally took care of my dreaded INBOX on the computer - good golly miss molly that box was seriously full and most of it was junk. I won't even tell you how many I deleted - and I sure hope that someone wasn't waiting for a reply from me. I did read an email from Annette who was looking for a recipe BACK IN FEBRUARY - seriously how bad is that. I'm sorry Annette if your reading this that I didn't answer back - pop me another email if you are still interested in that dessert. Now that it's nice and tidy and cleaned up - it will stay that way. That's a cross off of the list of "to do's" that's been waiting. If I missed a reply to you please give me another chance lol.
I popped over to a couple of friends houses last week and took some decorating pics to share with you. I finally got my summer/patriotic decorating up this past weekend. Mr. Farmhouse was on a fishing trip for a few days - so I made a mess and got it done. I swear it takes me longer every season to accomplish this task. It's not because I have more stuff - it's because I can't make a decision anymore lol - anyone else out there like that. What used to flow now comes out in spurts. But I'm happy with it and can cross that one off my list now as well and I will share that next time.
For those of you who love handwork, quilting and wool I've opened up my Etsy shop Farmhouse Woolens a couple of weeks ago and am gearing up for some fun projects in the future. One of the new BOM's is going to be this adorable quilt from Buttermilk Basin - this picture is from her postcard flyer
I have all the fabric for the borders here and waiting - the patterns should be released in the next week I'm hoping. Such a fun project and full of wooly goodness. If you want a fun piece to make up for this summer - well maybe next summer - check out this quilt from Geoff's Moms pattern co.
I saw this quilt at spring market and fell in love with it and now there are kits available in the etsy shop if your interested.
So lets get to sharing some pics of some fun decorating to inspire you. I've got to say the cooking isn't to exciting around here for awhile so I really don't have anything fun to share in that department. Need to change that up and get something yummy on here.
Hope these give you a tich of inspiration - first up one of the peeps beautiful home - she's always willing to share a picture or two - Enjoy
YAHOOOOOOO I finally got that smilebox to load. It took me FOREVER tonight and much talking loud at myself and my computer. Anywho please enjoy my friend Rosemary's house. They have put a ton of sweat into this house over the many years they've lived there. She is starting to change over to a cottagey look and away from the more Victorian look it had.
