In my neck of the woods. Although with temps in the 70's last week we have no right to complain - we have been enjoying a long autumn season. Out my door this morning a blizzard was happening
As you know I was preparing for a holiday workshop up in the nest last Saturday. What a wonderful day it was - the weather was amazing, the ladies attending couldn't have been kinder and everything went pretty smoothly. I think they all enjoyed the projects as well as the day. Everyone I'm pretty sure- including me were touched with inspiration. I completely spaced taking pictures of their show and tell - many wonderful treasures were shared and inspiration was abundant from them.
I have to give a BIG shout out to my helpers for both the day of the event as well as leading up to it. They all helped to make this event go smoothly and well stocked. Without them I would have been toast and I am forever grateful for their wonderful friendships in my life. They are always there when I call for help asking what they can do for me. Thank you dear friends - you know who you are and I am blessed to have you in my life.
Here's a little tour around the nest before the ladies came
A few pictures of the ladies hard work - here are three sweet ladies - Mary, Margyene and Jenice who came from Iowa and are watching a demo from my dear friend Kari of New Leaf Stitches on her brand new ruler just released. A shout out to my other far away travelers Twyla and Lisa who I thought I got a picture of and didn't - sorry about that. They traveled from South Dakota and it was so nice to see them again after several years. Thank you ladies for coming such a long way - I hope to see you all again next time
A wonderful trunk show from sweet woolie friends Faye and Denise of their miniature quilts - totally inspiring.
After the workshop I had a group of 10 ladies stop by for a little shopping after a full day of shop hopping dressed in the deer hunting orange lol - what a hoot they were and capped off a wonderful day. I should have gotten a picture of them as well in their dress orange.
So that catches me up to today. I just updated my Etsy site tonight Farmhouse Woolens with some fun new projects - so please popover and check it out if your interested to see what's new. Here's a few snippets of what you might find there
We have a busy family weekend ahead of us so I'm thankful the bad weather came today and not tomorrow. Next week is Turkey week so lots of prep for family coming for that. My house is decorated for Christmas and I'll start sharing snippets of that on the 1st of December.
See you next Tuesday - have a great weekend.
Beautiful, Karen...snow and all! Lucky ladies to visit such a special place.

The snow is so calming to look at. Looks like a wonderful place to be in your sewing room. Curious what's in the gift bags on the tables? Thanks for sharing, you are such a inspiration to me.

The snow looks so magical. I guess living in it everyday becomes a drag. Coming from Perth Western Australia it's quite the opposite. But we too have had an unusually long Spring. The temperatures have been quite mild for this time of year. Not complaining. Hoping for a not too hot Xmas Day though so we can eat outdoors.
Looking forward to seeing your Xmas decorations. Your home is beautiful.

YAY for SNOW LOL!!! I'm so happy the blizzard didn't hit during your retreat. Everything looks so beautiful -- and you've rearranged a bit since I was there! What a perfect place for a retreat. It looks like it was perfect -- as is everything you do Sweet Karen!!!

Looks like a fun event - I wish I lived closer! What is the paint color in your sewing room? I love that shade of gold.
